One of my favourite projects to make since the studio opened in 1996 has always been making snowflakes. I have always enjoyed laying them out and changing them till they were perfect to solder. Over the years I have probably made hundreds of them and never made the same one twice. This year we decided to get back to our roots and make beveled snowflakes. As well as I have made my largest snowflake to date measuring 20 inches.
They are a great beginner project or a great quick gift, because there is little to no cutting involved. The beveled edge of the glass refracts direct sunlight into prisms that dance around as the day passes by. Due to the higher cost is materials they do cost a little more to make, but there sparkle and beauty make them the perfect gift to anyone this snowy holiday season.
